What is the cancellation policy for The Blue Heron Cottages?
If you cancel more than 60 days prior to an arrival, we will refund your deposit less $75. If you cancel with 60 days or less of arrival, we will refund your balance only if the unit can be re-booked.

Can a cottage be reserved with a down payment?
A $300 down payment is required to hold a reservation, with the balance due 30 days prior to arrival date. If your reservation is made less than 30 days in advance, full payment is due at time of reservation.

What are the maximum number occupants allowed in a cottage?
Four

Is there a maximum period for which cottage can be rented?
No limit. We rent nightly, weekly and monthly.

Is there a Security Deposit required?
A $300 security deposit is required. A hold will be placed on your credit card. This is to secure funds in the event that there is damage or theft to the cottage. The hold will be voided within 7 days of departure, if cottage is left in the same condition as when occupancy commenced. If cottage is not left in the same condition as when occupancy commenced, damage amount will be charged to your credit card.

Do you accept credit cards?
We accept all major credit cards including Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.

Do you charge a cleaning fee?
An $80 cleaning fee is required, which is for basic cleaning only upon your departure. Please wash your dishes, empty the trash, and dispose all food

What are the pet rules and extra costs for pets?
Pets are allowed in the cottage. Please inquire about Pet Fee at the time of reservation. We ask guests to keep Ocean Beach and the property attractive, please pick-up after your pet. Guests are expected to keep animals off of all furniture. Barking dogs are not to be left alone at any time for courtesy of other guests and neighbors. If additional cleaning or damage repair is required due to pets, guest credit card will be charged accordingly.

Is there parking?
Each cottage has reserved parking. Please inquire at the time of reservation.

Do you rent equipment like bikes, surfboards, etc?
We currently have two beach cruiser bicycles and one surf board available for rent. Please inquire about rental rates and availability at time of reservation. There are also several rental shops on Newport Avenue which is 4 blocks from the cottages.

Is smoking allowed in the cottage?
In consideration of our guests, smoking is not allowed in the cottage. Smokers are welcome to smoke outside. Be considerate of non-smokers. Dispose of butts properly.

How close are you to Dog Beach?
One unique feature of Ocean Beach is Dog Beach , a sandy area at the north end of Abbott Street . The cottage is .63 miles from Dog Beach .

Is the back yard fenced in?
The backyard is a shared yard and is not fenced in.
